Best Practice Guidelines for Mobile Elevating Work Platforms

Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP's) are useful but complex pieces of equipment that are often used for access in hazardous areas. People have been seriously injured and killed in accidents involving MEWPs. This guideline outlines work practices on how to use and maintain MEWPs safely.

Operator Logbooks

The Best Practice Guide describes the use of logbooks as a means of providing information to assist operators with daily checks and a means of record keeping for routine maintenance checks and recording of faults.

Logbooks assist owners and operators with compliance to AS2550:10, and provide educational and operational consistencies nationwide with New Zealand.

The Official Truck Loading Code of Practice

The Truck loading code sets out a code of practice for the safety of loads on heavy vehicles. It has been prepared to provide owners, drivers, operators and loading staff with guidance in the basic safety principles that must be followed generally, and in particular the precautions that must be taken to ensure the safe carriage of a number of the more common types of load, including containers, pallets, construction equipment, logs and sawn timber.

Best Practice Guidelines for EWP's used in the HORTICULTURE Industry
These guidelines provide guidance on safe work practices for the use and maintenance of horticultural mobile elevating work platforms (H/MEWPs) in the horticultural industry and are supplementary to other guidance on working at heights and the use of elevating work platforms. This guidance does not attempt to cover the requirements for the design of elevating work platforms in detail.

Best Practice Guidelines for Working at Height

The purpose of these guidelines is to provide practical guidance to employers, contractors, employees and all others engaged in work associated with working at height on how they can meet their obligations under the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992 and its associated Regulations. Accordingly, adherence to these Best Practice Guidelines is recommended.
